CartWright Education was founded in 2020 with a mission of providing high quality education to EMS providers. We are currently offering several emergency airway management courses that provide the most up to date airway management practices in EMS including the 2 day Difficult Airway Course.

In addition to airway courses CartWright also offers tailored EMS education at agency request. Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Ventilator management

  • Advanced heart failure

  • 12 lead EKG

  • The science of resuscitation

Meet our faculty

Missy Carter MPAS, PA-C, PM

Professor of Emergency Medical Services, Tacoma Community College

Course Director for the Difficulty Airway Course EMS West Region—Washington

Missy is a Tacoma Community College alumni and has been involved in the EMS community since 2000. Prior to attending PA school at the University of Washington in 2014 Missy served as a paramedic for the Bremerton Fire Department for nearly 12 years. Missy has a background in Emergency Medicine as a PA-C and is currently practicing in the ICU. She is a professor of EMS at the TCC paramedic program. Missy has been teaching difficult airway management for over a decade and teaches difficult airway courses throughout the State. Missy is also active in the medical community as clinical preceptor for PA students at MEDEX Northwest.

Joshua Wright BA, PM

Josh has a passion for education and is a natural born leader. Josh started his teaching career at Tacoma Community College as clinical director of the paramedic program, now serving as the EMS program chair and is responsible for many innovative changes. Josh served as a paramedic, Fire Caption, and union president for Sunnyside Fire and Rescue for over 12 years.

Michael Carter MPAS, PA-C

Faculty for the Difficulty Airway Course EMS West Region—Washington State

Mike started his career in EMS in 2002. He served as a paramedic in Eastern Washington before attending PA school at the University of Washington in 2012. Mike currently practices in critical care with a background in advanced heart failure and critical care transplant. Mike also participates in PA education as a guest lecturer and clinical faculty for MEDEX Northwest.

Jeff Krekling BA, PM

Medical Lieutenant Central Pierce Fire and Rescue

EMS Evaluator and Paramedic Preceptor, Tacoma Community College

Faculty for the Difficulty Airway Course EMS West Region—Washington State

Jeff is a TCC alumni serving the EMS community since 2006. He is passionate about education and is active in both his departmental training as well as the education of paramedic students. Jeff is currently leading his department’s supraglottic airway program and participating in an EMS pediatric cardiac arrest study.

Jesse Fox PM

Medical Officer Central Pierce Fire and Rescue

Faculty for the Difficulty Airway Course EMS West Region—Washington State

Jesse, another TCC alumni, started his career with Central Pierce in 2006. Over the years Jesse has been heavily involved in EMS education as a both a preceptor and an educator, now serving as Medical Officer for CPFR. Jesse was instrumental in updating the Pierce County Paramedic Airway Management (PAM) program and is known as a leader in EMS.


 

Stephen Hudspeth

Paramedic Central Pierce Fire and Rescue

EMS evaluator and Paramedic preceptor

Stephen has been serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic for Central Pierce since 2017. He is heavily involved in EMS education with a special interest in Airway, Cardiology, and MCI. He is currently leading a multiagency study on prehospital IV nitroglycerin for the treatment of flash pulmonary edema.
